Art Resins

Polymer & Epoxy Resins
At Art Tree Creations, we are the premier facilitator of Melbourne art classes, diving into the wonderful world of creativity. Our humble beginnings started with art classes, which led us to be a key clear casting resin supplier in the region.
All of the products we stock are designed to be the highest quality, each with their own characteristics. They all dry to a high-gloss finish and are all 1:1 mixing ratio except Ultra Cast (2:1).
We’ve listed our full range below, complete with working details, so you can find the best fit for your creative vision with ease.
Our most UV stable epoxy resin
Art resin is an epoxy solution and is certified non-toxic, with excellent UV-resistance. It’s the thinnest of all the options we stock, perfect for artists that like the colours to move and blend more.
On the downside, it is the most expensive and it is the softest when dry - plus isn’t heat-resistant enough to have a hot cuppa on it (if you used it for coasters). The working time is about 45 mins, so you have just enough time to create a finished piece that mixes the epoxy’s inherent properties with your own technique.
Total Cast - a popular option
This epoxy casting resin is a polymer formula which has excellent UV stability and is certified non-toxic. Its weakness is that it’s a bit more pricey than other options - but it makes up for it in quality.
You’ll find it flows a bit more freely than Dalchem and Master Cast resins but it’s not quite as thin as some others. You’ll get about 35 minutes to work this formula, so it’s perfect for abstract works that evoke mood and feeling.
For versatility
Master Cast is another non-toxic and UV-resistant epoxy resin that is slightly cheaper than Total Cast. From our extensive testing, it dries the hardest out of the non-toxic variants. In essence, it’s thicker than Total Cast - a trait which helps you shape better edges in your work.
Your design won’t move as much with this consistency either, so if you have flowing colours in mind, you’ll find Art Resin or thinner consistencies a better option. What’s more, the working time is about 30 mins, so be mindful of the process.
Ultra Cast XT
Ultra Cast XT is a 2:1 product that has been specifically formulated to have a long working time (60mins) and be very temperature-resistant (95 degrees). It is a clear casting resin suppliers like us have come to love, lending itself to works across jewellery, coasters, embedded designs and more.
Dalchem Crystal Clear Resin
Dalchem Crystal Clear casting epoxy resin is UV-resistant, but isn’t certified non-toxic. It’s a thicker formula and is similar to the Master Cast, which makes it easier to get good coverage on the sides of boards.
It also doesn't move quite as much as thinner formulas do, making it simple to work with. Offering more heat-resistance than the other three options, it is highly tolerant to temperatures up to 80 degrees. The Dalchem is a less expensive option on the market, and in our testing, is the hardest once dry. The working time is also about 30 mins.
TIP: If you would like it a bit thinner, simply warm it up. We have also conducted tests on how deep you can pour it in one single pour, and experienced minimal shrinkage at a depth of 3 cm. All of our coloured products work fantastically with all of the formulas we stock.
