Candle & Soap Making is a great fun and relatively easy low cost creative activity to do for the whole family. Container candles are any candle in a container and pillar candles have no container and made in a silicone mould or other mould type.

Each type requires a different wax, container wax like 100% soy wax has a lower melt point and is softer where as pillar candle wax like palm wax is harder and has a higher melt point. 

For container candles its best to use a container maker additive to minimize shrinkage and other issues. 

Choosing the right wick size is important to get the right size melt pool, then it is a matter of adding the fragrance that you need and your almost done.
